The following review contains spoilers for Legend of the Seeker through the current episode, “Bounty,” originally broadcast the weekend of November 8th, 2008.

Judging from “Bounty,” future episodes of Legend of the Seeker will revolve around Richard, Kahlan and Zedd on the run from the latest threat, be it bounty hunters, Darken Rahl, or weird cave-dwelling dragon creatures.  In other words, the Threat of the Week.  In many respects, that makes Legend of the Seeker no different from any other syndicated action-adventure series.  Episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess were for the most part stand-alone stories that saw Hercules and Xena battling a new foe each and every week.

The following review contains spoilers for Ghost Whisperer through the current episode, “Imaginary Friends & Enemies,” originally broadcast November 7th, 2008.

What a creepy (and game changing) episode.  The young actress playing Natalie really did a great job. At first, I was confused as to how Jim knew Tricia and Hunter, because I couldn’t remember seeing either of them before. I thought maybe Tricia was his sister but eventually it seemed obvious she’s just an old friend (or the widow of an old friend, as the case may be). From the very start there was tension evident between Hunter and Natalie and I assumed that was going to play into the Ghost of the Week. But really, it didn’t. This wasn’t about Hunter and Natalie or even Natalie. It was all about Tricia.

The following review contains spoilers for Supernatural through the current episode, “Wishful Thinking,” originally broadcast November 6th, 2008.

The teaser to this episode was brilliant. A beautiful woman is taking a shower, some creepy kid is leering at her, he disappears, she thinks she hears something, creepy kid gets a towel thrown over him, begs the woman not to tell his mom, woman screams. Not exactly what one would expect (the woman lived, after all) from Supernatural. And the episode only got better. The first few minutes after the opening credits were reminiscent of “Monster Movie,” with the Brothers Winchester hearing about strange happenings in Concrete, Washington and assuming nothing is really going on.

The following review contains spoilers for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles through the current episode, “Brothers of Nablus,” originally broadcast November 3, 2008.

Tonight’s review, I would like to take you on an interesting investigation into something that you can only find on The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  It’s a dangerous place that few people can claim to have seen and lived to talk about it.  But it seems to be a place that the writers of the show would like us to go, so I will do my best to show you around.  Let’s journey, loyal readers, into the mind of a Terminator.

Broadcast Networks

It was another atypical week for the broadcast networks, due to the World Series and Senator Obama’s political advertisement.  Both Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Knight Rider were pre-empted, while Fringe was a repeat.

The following review contains spoilers for Legend of the Seeker through the current episodes, “Prophecy” and “Destiny,” originally broadcast the weekend of November 1st, 2008.

The first two episodes of this new, hour-long action/adventure series were shown back-to-back on my local The CW station from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Saturday, November 1st.  And then, oddly enough, the first episode was shown again at 4:00PM the following day.  It seems each new episode will premiere on Saturdays at 7:00PM and then repeat Sundays at 4:00PM.  I’m not quite sure why each episode will be shown twice, or whether other local stations are doing the same thing, but it means I have two chances to tune in.

The following review contains spoilers for Ghost Whisperer through the current episode, “Bloodline,” originally broadcast October 31st, 2008.

This was an interesting episode, with a rather low-key ghost of the week story that evolved into something a little more emotional and compelling. I’ve never been one to toot my own horn but I did call the big twist within the first five or six minutes. Granted, I became a little less certain as the episode progressed but ultimately I was redeemed.
