Open Discussion on Heroes – “An Invisible Thread”

Posted by Lower Decks StaffThe third season finale of NBC’s Heroes just ended on the East Coast. It included a pretty shocking turn of events, one that’s sure to incite a lot of bitter debate among fans during the summer hiatus. There’s no word yet on when Season Four will premiere (NBC has yet to “officially” renew the series for a fourth season but that seems to be just a technicality at this point) so that hiatus might extend into the fall.
Hit the comments with your thoughts on “An Invisible Thread.” Was it a jump the shark moment for Heroes? Are you excited for Volume Five: Redemption? Be wary of spoilers if you haven’t seen the episode.

Jumped the shark. Nobody on the show seems to learn their lesson. What’s with all the go-it-alone bravado? Who in their right mind thinks they can stop Sylar without even the faintest hint of a plan? Why wasn’t Claire’s blood used to save Nathan, like it saved Noah before? Did Peter not see his dead brother when he dropped off a sedated Sylar? Speaking of which, the man can come back to life after being stabbed in the brain, but can’t do squat about a tranquilizer dart? How did Peter even become the President in the first place? And for crying out loud, why didn’t we get to see the big fight at the end?! No idea what’s happening to Hiro, seems like a forced afterthought. Parkman and Strauss continue to get screen time when they are clearly the least interesting character’s on the show. I for one, am done with this travesty.

I am sure I will still be watching next season but really, this was an awful episode. I also wondered why Claire’s blood was not used to save Nathan. I also could not believe that Nathan and Peter thought they could take on Sylar with just the ability to fly. Was one brother supposed to break left while the other broke right or something?
Peter should have quickly touched Claire’s arm and absorbed her ability before rushing Sylar. Sure, it was the heat of the moment but it would have been so very helpful.
