According to a press release posted at its official website, syndicated action/adventure series Legend of the Seeker will return for its second season the weekend of Saturday, November 7th, 2009. Actress Tabrett Bethell will be a series regular, reprising her character of Cara the Mord’Sith from the Season One finale (read my review of “Reckoning” here). And Charisma Carpenter will have a guest spot in the premiere.

Is anyone else excited? Tabrett Bethell will add an interesting dynamic to the series. As I’ve mentioned time and time again, I became a big fan of Legend of the Seeker about halfway through the first season when the show turned a corner and became lots of fun. Of course, I’ve never read any of the Terry Goodkind novels the series is based on, and that probably makes things easier. So bring on Season Two!

The show’s first season was interesting, at times exciting but not always fun.

Here is my take on it with a little humor and lots o’ pics if you are interested.

I have read the Sword of Truth novels and what I can say is that I have a hard time watching this series because there are some serious plot issues, but I agree that the series is good when not taken in the context of the books. Season 1 was awesome and so I started watching some of season 2 on Hulu, but it doesn’t seem as great. Of the episodes I have seen so far though, the major problem I have seen is the whole thing with Richard becoming the next Lord Rahl. I don’t remember the novels in any great detail so I don’t remember if he resisted being the Lord Rahl before finally becoming it, but I do remember that the reason for him assuming the role of Lord Rahl, plays a major part in the later novels. So for those of you who have read the novels, I would say try to take the episodes and novels separately or you might become annoyed.
