Here we go: the last new episode before a six-week hiatus. Shucks. And here is Super NBC Announcer Man, recapping the goings-on of the last few episodes.

In Isaac's studio, the gun he shot Simone with lies smoking on the ground. He begs Peter to do something. But Simone is dead. Very, very dead. And now Isaac is very, very mad. He fires off a round at Peter but misses, and Peter runs out.

In Las Vegas, Hiro is stopped at the top of an escalator, having been flagged and already given a warning. He is tossed out on his butt by security but vows not to be stopped. Ole Hiro really wants to get at Linderman.

Mr. Bennet survived the bullet wound to his side. His memory, however, is not intact. The last thing he remembers his taking his wife back from the hospital. According to Thompson (Mr. Bennet's boss, apparently), the Haitian has gone rogue -- and he wiped the memories of Mrs. Bennet and Lyle. Although he wants to go after his missing daughter, Thompson tells Mr. Bennet it is out of his hands. Thompson leaves Mr. Bennet's room and, outside, asks Parkman what he thinks. Parkman says Mr. Bennet is telling the truth. As Thompson and a woman leave him (presumably) tied to a chair, Parkman yells out that they had a deal.

He is not very reassured by Thompson.

Somewhere along Route 290, the Haitian and Claire chat. She does not know where they are going and only wants to go back home to her family. The Haitian tells her that even she cannot recover from what the Company would do to her. And she has to honor the sacrifices made so that she might survive. As the Haitian speaks in French on a pay phone, Claire waits. They are leaving the country that night.

In Manhattan, Agents Quesada and Alonzo, from the FBI, come to talk with Nathan about illegal campaign contributions from the Linderman group. They check the office for bugs and the three start talking shop. Nathan is working for the FBI to bring down Linderman. They want him to wear a wire when he goes to meet with Linderman that evening. Otherwise, Linderman walks. The FBI leave and Nathan is alone.

But Peter was in the room all along. Nathan has been working with the FBI since his wife's accident. Peter tells him that Simone is dead, killed by Isaac. Nathan's first question is about the police. He wants to make an anonymous call to the police while Peter keeps out of it. But Peter just cannot

There is a knock on the door. Peter disappears. And he never reappears.

Mr. Bennet returns to the hotel where his family is staying. Lyle is watching television. Mrs. Bennet is heading out to get food. Claire is apparently at a cheerleading retreat. Mr. Bennet tells his wife he has to leave. But she stops him, turns on the radio, and explains that yesterday he told her everything about his job and Claire. She hands him a note in his own handwriting: "Claire is with friends. Don't go after her." There is a knock at the door. The Bennets know they have to play dumb.

The woman who was with Thompson and Parkman is at the door. Apparently, Mr. Bennet's painter friend has a dead body on his hands (poor Simone) and Mr. Bennet is going to go clean it up. And it is not a request. Mr. Bennet has a new assignment. He heads inside to gather his things and the woman walks in after him. She talks with Mrs. Bennet, telling her she likes her hair.

Sylar-as-Zane looks over Mohinder's list. Most of the folks are either missing or dead. Mohinder wants to check Sylar-as-Zane's DNA against his father's formula. Sylar-as-Zane offers to help while Mohinder takes a break. He offers to call someone named Isaac, in New York. If the formula is worked out, Mohinder might find hundreds, if not thousands of folks with abilities. After Mohinder gives him some coffee, Sylar-as-Zane asks who they are going to call next. Mohinder's response? No one. As Sylar-as-Zane starts to feel the effects of whatever drug was in the coffee, Mohinder drops a bombshell: He knows that he has Sylar.

Back in Vegas, Hiro meets up with Nathan. He is very excited. Inside the casino, Hiro explains that he sent Ando back to Japan. Nathan knows the value of working alone. Hiro wants Nathan to help him get the sword from Linderman. The same goons who threw Hiro out earlier are flabbergasted to learn that he is making an important delivery from Nathan to Linderman.

Claire's new name is Vivian Lewis, from Canada. She wants to see Peter again but the Haitian says no. Peter is not in the position to be responsible for her or himself. But she gives him the slip by stealing his boarding pass and identification as they prepare to board the plane. With the Haitian stuck behind the security check, Claire is free to go after Peter.

The NYPD show up at Isaac's studio with a few questions. They have a picture of Simone. Isaac says they broke up. The cops want to take a look around. And then Simone walks in the door, all alive and such. The cops leave and Mr. Bennet shows up. It turns out Simone is actually Candice, that woman who showed up at Mr. Bennet's door earlier. She has a special ability, too, and can take on the appearance of others. The real Simone is still lying dead on the floor. Mr. Bennet will have the place cleaned up but Isaac is otherwise on his own.

Jessica and Micah play video games in Las Vegas. She offers to let him be late for school but the little tyke really wants his learning. After he is gone, Jessica talks with Niki in a mirror. D.L. abruptly walks in with a photograph of Nathan Petrelli. It was on his pillow. Jessica explains it away as Linderman offering her a job at the casino. It looks like Niki has been keeping busy...

When Sylar wakes up, he cannot feel his fingers. His brain is paralyzed. Mohinder found out that the real Zane was killed three days ago. Mohinder tortures Sylar with a toning ring, which is incredibly painful to Sylar's powerful ears. Mohinder pulls a gun and explains that the only thing that can be done to a parasite is kill it. Sylar tries to mess with Mohinder's mind by telling him secrets from Papa Suresh. Mohinder does not pull the trigger. Instead, he is going to get the answers from Sylar, answers his father wanted.

Sylar is the key to unlocking the secrets of these strange abilities. So, Mohinder decides to take a sample of Sylar's spinal fluid, which is a very painful procedure.

Hiro finally has access to Linderman's collection of things. He brings Isaac's painting to the curator and, when the curator leaves to get a receipt, Hiro finds the sword. But as he is climbing one of those rolling ladders to grab the sword, the curator returns. All 700+ members of the security team are now on their way to take down Hiro. But the security guard who shows up first is Ando, who knocks out the curator. The two block the door before more security can get in.

Nathan talks to the FBI agents via the wire he is wearing, to tell them he is going to his room before meeting with Linderman. The agents are in a hotel room, waiting on pizza. And then the door to the hotel room busts open. It is Jessica, with a gun. The agents kick over their guns and then, after admitting how much she loves working with professionals, kills them both.

Mohinder is sure he can start a new list now, with the help of Sylar's spinal fluid. Sylar tries to pull the victim card but then cries out for the list. He wants it. He needs it. He sees himself as a natural part of evolution and, of course, evolution kills. Mohinder points the gun at Sylar again and this time he pulls the trigger. But the bullet stops before it impacts Sylar's head. Sylar frees himself, commenting on the fact that Mohinder is just like his father, and then goes after the list.

Isaac looks through his paintings and sketches and then starts tearing his studio apart. He finds some drugs, shoots up, and starts to paint. Oh, how he paints. When he finishes, he has some nice paintings. Nasty looking, too.

Now in his room, Nathan talks into his wire again. And then he sees Niki in the mirror. And it is Niki, this time, but she does not know how long Jessica will be kept at bay. Nathan, of course, has no idea what she is talking about and after she tells him that a) the FBI agents are dead and b) Linderman knows he turned, Nathan really is not sure if Niki is warning him or threatening him.

Mr. Bennet returns home and learns from his wife that the hotel will allow Mr. Muggles to stay with them in the hotel. He turns on the faucet and the two talk. The Company needs to be stopped for good in order for Claire to stay safe. Mr. Bennet never knew he could talk to his wife about all this. But the only thing Mrs. Bennet cares about is finding Claire. Her phone rings, she answers, and indicates to her husband she will only be a moment. Then Thompson and some goons show up.

It was not Mrs. Bennet at all. It was shape-shifting Candice.

Hiro finally gets his hands on the sword. The doors, however, are not holding. Ando tells Hiro to go, to teleport, now that he has the sword. Instead, Hiro places his hands on Ando and they both teleport. They find themselves in the future, standing in the ruins of New York City.

Claire knocks on a door, hoping to find Peter. But it is Mrs. Petrelli, not Peter, and she is working with the Haitian! What a shock. And then Claire gets another one: this is her grandmother. Mrs. Petrelli has been trying to keep her safe.

Niki explains that Linderman will offer Nathan a deal. If he does not take it, his only other option is to get his family and run. Nathan thinks he has another option: he could kill Linderman. Niki tells him to knock her out so that Jessica will know she is not in control anymore. Although Nathan is confused, he takes Niki's gun and knocks her out. He then meets up with one of Linderman's people and is brought to a kitchen. That is where he will talk with Linderman. It turns out Linderman likes cooking. And he has just prepared a pot pie.

As Linderman rambles on about cooking and happiness, Nathan stands awkwardly. Linderman explains that the only to be truly happy is to live in the present. In order to have a life of meaning, one has to wallow in the past and obsess about the future. Nathan, in Linderman's view, has been obsessing. Nathan pulls the gun (which means he cannot have any pot pie) and points it at Linderman. If he pulls the trigger, however, he will be dead within in moments.

Linderman knows all about Nathan's ability, and Peter's, and Claire's. He then offers Nathan the White House and gives him a choice. Nathan lowers the gun.

Peter shows up at Mohinder's place and finds it trashed. He eventually finds Mohinder, stuck up against the ceiling, bleeding rather badly. Mohinder only gets out one word: Sylar. Speak of the devil, eh? Sylar pops up and grabs Peter, who is just like him, and begins to cut into his head. Peter screams. And a lock of his hair falls to the floor.

Review

Oh, now this was an amazing episode. That being the case, it was only proper that I ruin the shocking revelation of Linderman for myself while trying to figure out who Candice was (obviously, if I knew her name was Candice, I would not have been looking and would not have ruined the revelation). So that was a disappointment. So was actually meeting Linderman. After all the build up I expected him to be a little bigger. And not some old cook who likes pot pies. But offering Nathan the White House? Oh, he knew exactly which of Nathan's buttons to push.

I was surprised when Ando showed up, thankfully, although I have to wonder how he managed to get a security guard's uniform and know when/where to be in order to save Hiro. Their reunion, however short-lived, was a touching moment. And it was made much more touching when Hiro teleported them to the future and they saw what would happen should they fail to stop things from going BOOM.

Speaking of BOOM, how nutty was Mohinder pulling a fast one on Sylar? And Sylar then proceeding to pull a fast one on Mohinder? That was pretty nutty. Sylar was willing to go through all that pain (if he actually feels pain) just too potentially get a new list of folks with abilities? He really has some issues. Right now, the number one issue in my mind is how he managed to get Mohinder up on that ceiling and keep him there.

I was not surprised that Niki was able to take over the body from Jessica and do naughty things (just as Jessica had done to her). Was it a big coincidence that she was able to take over the body at just the right moment to tell Nathan everything? Sure. But who cares. It was fun. And now Jessica will know she is not in charge. I wonder who will win the war of the body. Hopefully we find out before the end of the season.

So Mrs. Petrelli is working with the Haitian to protect Claire. Did not see that coming. Poor Claire. She just cannot catch a break. And neither can her father. Spilling the beans to Candice was real bad luck. I wonder when Candice took over as Mrs. Bennet. And where is Mrs. Bennet? Will Mr. Bennet bite the dust? What is going to happen to Parkman? What were those paintings that Isaac created? Will Nathan turn evil? Will Hiro and Ando return from the future? Will Sylar kill Mohinder and Peter? Will Claire learn to love her grandmother? Have I covered everyone?

Check back on April 23rd for the next exciting installment of Heroes.
