New Doctor Who Revealed

The BBC has revealed that actor Matt Smith will take over the role of Doctor Who, ending months of speculation about who would fill David Tennant’s shoes when he steps down later this year. Tennant, who himself took over the role in 2005, will film four specials that will air during 2009 and 2010. Smith will first appear on screen in 2010 when the fifth season of the current incarnation of Doctor Who premieres.
