Stargate: Atlantis News Round-Up

The season finale of Stargate: Atlantis aired this past Friday on SCI FI. Reaction at the Observation Lounge was mixed but according to a SCI FI Channel press release posted at the futon critic, “Enemy at the Gate” did well in the Nielsen ratings:
The series finale of Stargate Atlantis entitled “Enemy at the Gate” (9 pm) delivered a 1.5 HH rating with 973,000 Adults 18-49, 1.15 MM Adults 25-54 and 2.02 MM total viewers (P2+). This marks a season high in all key measures and is the best performance for an Atlantis episode since the season 4 finale on March 7, 2008.
Also, GateWorld has posted an editorial questioning the motives behind the show’s cancellation as well as a look at what Season Six of Stargate: Atlantis might have involved had it gone into production.
Farewell to Stargate: Atlantis

Tonight at 9:00PM ET, SCI FI Channel will broadcast the final episode of Stargate: Atlantis (it also happens to be the 100th episode). After five seasons of adventures, Stargate: Atlantis is going off the air to make room for a new Stargate series, Stargate: Universe. A spin-off of Stargate: SG-1 (which itself ended in June of 2007), Stargate: Atlantis premiered on July 16th, 2004 with a two-hour episode guest-starring Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks.
