Patrick Stewart says he is disappointed Nemesis did not do much better at the box office, he told Ananova. "I would have expected a more positive response to the theme of our film..."

As to some of the reasons for the low fan turnout for Nemesis, he adds that the increasing use of special effects technology in films such as Lord of the Rings may have something to do with it.

"Middle Earth or Hogwarts seem to be more attractive and more comforting in these times. As a child, I believed what was happening on the screen with all my heart. Today, I watch Lord of the Rings and I know these armies don't exist."
