IGN.com has chosen the Star Trek: The Next Generation DVD season sets winners of two awards of the IGN DVD Best of 2002 Awards.

The awards won by the TNG sets are the Best TV DVD Audio; "There were a couple TV series released this year in Dolby 5.1, but TNG was the most consistent of the bunch. Throughout the seven seasons, the 5.1 mixes created some great subtle ambience for the show through the use of the sub and surround channels to bring through the "hum" of the Enterprise's warp engines in the background of most shots..."

The TNG sets also won the TV DVD of the Year; "There were many great TV shows released on DVD this year, but the one that takes the crown as the best TV DVD release of 2002 is easily Paramount's excellent handling of the seven-season Star Trek: The Next Generation series."
