Via Startrek.com:
Special thanks to Shaun Whiteaker for the tip!

It is our sad duty to report that two Star Trek writers, Jerry Sohl and Hilary J. Bader, have passed away.

Sohl scripted "The Corbomite Maneuver," production number 3 of the Original Series — although it was the 10th episode to air — which introduced us to the odd First Federation captain Balok (played by a very young Clint Howard) and his favorite drink Tranya. Sohl also co-wrote the story for "Whom Gods Destroy" in the third season.

Hilary J. Bader, who wrote a number of scripts for Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, has also passed away. Apparently she died on Friday of ovarian cancer.

Bader's works include scripts "The Loss" (TNG) to "Rules of Acquisition" (DS9) to "Eye of the Needle" (VOY). She also authored the "Star Trek: Borg" video game and the "Star Trek: Klingon" audio book.
